How we vet our washers

Valetly is a platform of independent car wash professionals working under one quality standard. Letting someone clean your car on your driveway only works if the person turning up has been properly checked, properly trained and is held to a clear standard on every job. Here is exactly how we do that.

1. Identity verification

Every applicant submits a government-issued photo ID and proof of right to work in the UK. We verify the document, match it to a live selfie, and keep the record on file with our compliance team.

2. Public liability insurance

Before they take a single booking, each car wash pro must hold a valid public liability policy that covers at-home vehicle cleaning. We check the certificate, the cover level and the renewal date — anyone whose cover lapses is paused immediately.

3. Waterless GPP-13 training

Every car wash pro completes our waterless method induction, built around the UK Environment Agency's GPP-13 guidance. The training covers panel-by-panel encapsulation chemistry, microfibre rotation, wheel and trim safety, and zero-runoff working — so the work is both safe for paint and compliant with London drainage rules.

4. Before & after photo audit

Every booking ends with a structured photo set: before, after and a close-up of any flagged area. Our operations team reviews the photos against a fixed standard for each package. If anything is below standard, the job is held until it is put right.

5. Ongoing quality reviews

We monitor on-time arrival, photo quality and customer feedback for every car wash pro. Anyone whose results slip below standard is retrained or removed. New car wash pros are also shadowed on their first jobs before they go solo.

6. Account security & payments

Customers never hand over cash. Payments are processed by Stripe and held in escrow until the job is completed and the photos are approved — protecting both sides of every booking.

If something is not right

Quality control does not end at the end of the job. If the result on your car does not match the photo standard for the package you booked, our re-clean promise applies: we send a car wash pro back to put the flagged areas right within 48 hours of you reporting it. Every flagged job feeds straight back into the audit above.
