The service is the appointment you book when the outside of the car is not the problem. The cabin is: mats that have carried a winter of grit, seats that have carried a dog or a car seat, cup holders, door pockets, the film on the inside of the windscreen that only shows up when the sun is low.

• Everyday tidy-up — school-run crumbs, dust on the dash, mats that need lifting out. The 60-minute Mini Valet (£99) includes a light interior alongside the exterior.
• Cabin is the job — the interior needs proper time and the outside can wait. Interior Valet, £119.
• Inside and out, properly — nothing has been done for months. Full Valet, £169.

Wherever the car is legally parked with room to walk around it: a driveway, an allocated bay, a residents' permit street, an estate car park, a gated development, or an office or underground car park where the building allows on-site cleaning.

That last one is worth two lines in the booking notes — a barrier code, a level, a bay number. With those in place the appointment runs without a phone call.

Most interior bookings in London come from three situations. A family car where the back seats do the hardest work: car seats out, rails and buckles exposed, footwells and boot given real time.

Booking takes about a minute: address, package, slot. The job is offered to valets covering your postcode until one accepts, and from then you have a name, a profile and live ETA tracking.

Interior appointments run 75 minutes for the cabin-only option and up to 210 for the longest package, so pick a slot where the car will genuinely still be parked in the same place.

Add-ons can be requested during the appointment. The valet accepts or declines before anything extra is charged, so nothing appears on the bill that you did not agree to.
