For deep interior work the two appointments that matter are £119 and £269. Between them sits the £169 Full Valet, which is the right call when the outside is as neglected as the inside.

Nothing is quoted on the driveway and nothing is metered.

Three questions decide it.

** Under six months, the £119 cabin appointment is usually enough. Years, and you want the 210-minute appointment.

Not because of any single technique, but because time is the variable that matters most on a neglected interior.

** Spilled drinks, ground-in grit, pet hair and a general film respond to a long appointment. Torn trim, cracked plastics and burns do not; be realistic before you book, and say what you are dealing with in the notes.

** If the paint is as tired as the cabin, £169 covers both in one visit and saves a second appointment.

Time, and the order the work can be done in. On a 210-minute appointment the valet can strip the cabin down properly — mats out, seats moved on their rails, boot floor lifted, console and vents given attention — instead of choosing which of those to skip.

On a 75-minute appointment they will prioritise, and the sensible thing is to tell them what matters most: the boot, the rear bench, the driver's footwell.
